Students at Central Park Elementary School Help Kick Off Miami Heat’s How Low Can You Go? Competition

WHO:
Miami Heat Extreme Team and Team Mascot, Burnie; Central Park Elementary School Students, Teachers, Administrators and Staff; and District Representatives  

WHAT:
To celebrate winning the Miami Heat’s 2024/25 How Low Can You Go? competition, Central Park Elementary School students will take part in a high-spirited pep rally with the Miami Heat’s Extreme Team.

The How Low Can You Go? challenge encourages schools to reduce their energy and water consumption throughout the school year. Central Park Elementary reduced its energy usage by 35% (187,904 kWh) in the 2024/25 competition compared to the previous year, resulting in a cost saving of $18,790.

The Miami Heat pep rally also celebrates Green Sports Day, which connects environmental stewardship with athletic events. The overall goal of both events is to get students excited and energized about doing their part to protect our environment and natural resources.
