Please be advised that construction keeps moving forward on the new SunPass-only ramp for southbound Turnpike drivers headed to westbound Hollywood/Pines Boulevard. Because of the location of the new SunPass ramp, it is necessary to permanently close Northwest 63rd Avenue at the intersection with westbound Hollywood/Pines Boulevard.
We anticipate the intersection closure will happen in mid- to late April. Once the closure date is set, an electronic sign will be posted at the intersection to advise the public.
After the intersection is closed, school buses and all vehicles that currently use Northwest 63rd Avenue will need to use Northwest 64th Avenue for access to/from Hollywood/Pines Boulevard.
Access to school property from 63rd Avenue will not be affected. I also want to remind you that at some point the sidewalk will have to be closed temporarily and that I will notify you as that time nears. We have worked with the contractor to delay the sidewalk closure and to reduce the closure period as much as possible.
Look for the signs. Look for patterns.
